I just saw this film on cable and agree with what the review has said. But I have a question that perhaps folks in that part of the country can address. The last part of the rodeo had, what at least I consider, a very shocking event. A bull was let out into the arena with the inmates trying to grab a rope from it's neck. I don't believe this is a normal event in a regular rodeo. I found it very distressing. These people are in prison due to lack of proper judgement. How can the authorities place them in a situation in which they could be severely injured or killed? Has anyone been disabled by this during the long history of this event? In one sequence the bull ran right over a women. She could have be mamed. Why is this allowed and considered entertainment? Incarceration is their punishment and rehabilitation might be the eventual goal for some. Are they being cooerced into thinking they will be favored by subjecting themselves to this extreme danger? This has got to be wrong. Please give me some insight on this aspect of the situation.
