Garry Shandling talks King of Comedy

At a special screening of Martin Scorsese’s The King of Comedy, Garry Shandling spoke of the film’s influence on The Larry Sanders Show:

I was very interested in exploring the darkness of human behavior and what we go through in life without being forced to make it funny like a network sitcom. And somewhere in my mind’s eye I remembered about Scorsese and this movie and you see how he filmed a talk show.
—-Garry Shandling, First Annual Wayne Federman International Film Festival

Love this movie. Love Larry Sanders.
